First Scrapbook Page Complete

Here it is, the very night I accept the challenge, and I've already completed a page! (Perhaps that is why I chose tonight to accept it!) I not only finished page two of my sister-in-laws wedding pages, but i started the work for the four pictures going on page three! I'm working with her wedding colors of pale blue and yellow, and using the mini blue and yellow silk flowers from the centerpeice at her bridal shower that I won. To me, if at all possible, scrapping should bring in actual "scraps" or elements from the event you are creating pages to remember. So, here it is, my first pat on my own back! Granted, it's Friday, so the first week is almost over anyway!

Welcome to my New Art Blog!

Look who got a blog! And it's all thanks to http://www.barbarasher.com and her Jolly New Year's Challenge:

"Pick a project for 07, not something difficult or dreary but something enjoyable that you never seem to find time for, and work on it at least once each week. Then write about what you did that week on your new blog. (Having a blog just got so easy, you can do it by accident.) Then, if you want people to come see what you've done, send them an email with an announcement and link to the blog."

So since I'm working with my Life Coach http://www.livingpotential.com on two rather serious goals, I thought I would take Barabara up on her challenge here and focus on something fun - CREATION!

1. I do hereby formally challenge myself to create at least one scrapbook page a week for the rest of 2007. Being a scanner I also, of course, encourage myself to take up other forms of creation when not on the scrapping mood... (sculpting, knitting, sketching, photography, etc)... but regardless, the scrapbook page must be made.

2. I do hereby formally challenge myself to writing one family story a month for the rest of 2007. This can come from my own memory or be something that I transcribe from my mom or great aunt, but I'm darn well getting going on that too!

3. I do hereby formally challenge myself to write in this blog at least once a week with a report of what I accomplished that week in all forms of creation. I of course first and foremost will report on the latest scrapbooking page I made, and then if i wrote a family story, and finally any other new entities that were birthed by my hands and mind that week.

So, this is it folks! The blog is created and the challenge is on! Wish me luck and keep in touch!
